A workshop was held at Police lines here on Monday to enlighten police personnel about the provisions under Section 498A of IPC (dowry harassment). The workshop was held under supervision of State Director General of Police Anil K Raturi
Around 100 Sub-Inspectors from various districts of the range attended the workshop. Participants were trained about the steps to be taken while they are investigating dowry harassment related cases. Police officers were informed about how to secure physical evidences and scientific evidences related to the same.
Experts from various fields like Vivek Srivastava, JS Bisht, JC Pancholi, JP Nainwal and Maindoli dwelt at length on how such cases should be dealt with. Earlier, DGP Raturi had directed the police officers to depute four women police personnel at each police station in their respective districts.
