The work of smart ration cards is under process and will probably be completed in the next few months, said the Dehradun district supply officer (DSO) Jaswant Singh Kandari.
According to him, the beneficiaries are filling the application forms to provide details for the smart ration cards along with those who are correcting their incorrect details filled in the forms earlier.
Furthermore, there are reportedly over 1000 fair price shops which do not have biometric system installed for fingerprints authentication yet. Talking about this, Kandari said that most of the fair price shops in the district have biometric system installed for fingerprints authentication and those where these have not been installed yet will be having it installed soon.
Kandari informed that various projects got delayed due to the State-wide lockdown to curb Covid-19 contagion but now everything is on track and hopefully the projects will be completed on time.
