The officials of Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) have said that the pending construction of the Patel Park has resumed and would be completed within two to three months.
However, the construction work of the Patel Park was left pending for a long time and the MDDA officials had earlier in January also claimed that the construction work of the park would most probably be completed in two to three months.
MDDA horticulture superintendent AR Joshi, under whose supervision the construction work of the park is being carried out, stressed that officials concerned have already been instructed to continue the work on the park. As per the plan the park would be completely ready within two to three months.
Joshi said a Delhi-based company has been hired for the technical work related to the construction of the park which is in progress. The fountain and the lights to be installed in the park are being constructed in Delhi and would be installed here.
He said that the background wall of the park is left blank for making murals the theme for which will be finalised soon by experts and MDDA engineers, added Joshi. It will be recalled that MDDA had planned to renovate and beautify the Patel Park with a budget of Rs 40-50 lakh.
