Though much is being stated and expected by way of improvement with the Bharatiya Janata Party government assuming charge, the general public experience is that the work culture in Government offices has not improved, remaining as it was during the tenure of the previous Congress-led State Government. Citizens here believe that despite the vital role of working culture in ensuring efficient functioning of the Government machinery, the Government employees of different departments have retained the proclivity to be absent from their official desks during their working hours. When it comes to the government offices in Pauri district including those of corporations, government hospital and other institutions, the attitude of many employees remains unchanged from the time of the previous Congress-led State Government. People often frustrated by negligence towards works by the officials complain that officers and employees down the line tend to be away from their offices.
