Woman's plaint: Finally FIR against Nainital ASP

Published on:

Wiith the State Government taking a serious note of it, an FIR has finally been registered at the Haldwani police station against  Parmendra Dobal, ASP, Nainital, following a complaint of a woman against him.

Following an application by a woman complainant against ASP Permendra Dobal, the FIR was registered under different sections of the IPC i.e. 328, 376 and 506 , said Sanjay Gunjyal, DIG, the Nainital range, while talking to The Pioneer.

Since ASP Dobal is presently posted at Haldwani, therefore, perhaps in a bid to avoid any suspicion about the investigation into the case against him, the investigation of this case will be done by ASP Yaswant, Udham Singh Nagar.

With a view to ensure a fair probe into this matter, ASP Yaswant, Udham Singh Nagar, will investigate the matter, the DIG further said.

When asked about any deadline given to the investigating team to probe this matter, Gunjyal maintained that there is no deadline given in this case. "We don't want to confine the investigation in  any timeframe. let there be a fair probe into this matter and only on the basis of the merit of the case the investigation would proceed further," the DIG further said.

When asked since the lady was staging protest against ASP Dobal in state capital Dehradun, therefore a case could be registered in the Dehradun police station, the DIG said that the complaint was originally addressed to the local police station Haldwani therefore, the FIR was registered here.

However, even after her arrival here on Wednesday midnight, the FIR could be registered here at the Haldwani police station only on late Thursday afternoon. As the matter was related to their senior colleague, so the police officials concerned were not willing to talk on this matter.

The matter of fact is that the FIR could be registered only when Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna intervened into this matter on Wednesday and taking all the necessary information he ordered to lodge an FIR in this case.  Besides, the CM has already announced to conduct a probe into this case by CBCID.

Though a case has now already been registered against ASP Dobal, it is only hoped that a fair probe would be ensured and truth will prevail.
