The discovery of a woman’s body found hanging from a tree near State Secretariat created stir among local residents on Friday. The body was found by some local residents in a vacant plot located on posh Rajpur road near the State’s power centre in Friday morning. The police was informed which rushed to the spot and brought down the body from the tree. A large number of people had gathered on the spot by this time. The woman appeared in her 30s. The in-charge of Kotwali Police station, SS Bisht told The Pioneer that the body was sent for the post-mortem and its report is awaited. He said that prima facie it appears a case of suicide. The police however are waiting for the post mortem report and are exploring all the information available from the spot. It is also going through CCTV footage of the area to get information about the incident.
