Woman stakes claim to Kalipeeth seer's inheritance!

Published on:

Excitement gripped Kalipeeth Ashram at Jagjeetpur  in Kankhal on Thursday as Tejinder Kaur,  a 43- year- old  woman disciple of Rasanand Maharaj, who died during  the Ujjain Kumbh on April 21, claimed that her newly born son was the only legitimate  heir  to the property left by the deceased  seer.

Rasanand Maharaj was the Mahamandleshwar of Agni Akhara. She said she was the widow of  the  seer and thus  the claim to the property for her son was right.  She further  said that she was ready to have her claim verified by DNA test. She said she would move court to see the last of things.    However, the  Ashram authority dismissed the claim, saying that she was lying.

High drama ensued in the otherwise peaceful Ashram as Kaur reached it  to stake the claim to the property of the seer for her two-day-old son. She said she had come to   participate in the memorial of the seer. She also offered flowers on the deceased’s photo. The memorial was  organized  at the behest of the  newly declared office bearer of the Ashram Swami Kailashanand on Thursday in Kalipeeth Kankhal.

Kaur said she would fight to the  last for the legitimate right of her son. She alleged  that the new caretaker of the Ashram had tried to stop her from entering the Ashram.

Notably, Tejinder had announced to the media persons five days ago that she  had been made pregnant  by the late seer.  She had claimed that they had been married in 2014. She further  claimed that she  had been the disciple of Rasanand for the past eight years. She had said  she was also present when he died in Ujjain.

“I am ready to have DNA test  conducted on my child. Besides, I have proof of my marriage. I would go to the court seeking justice,” she said. She alleged that her room in the ashram had been broken open  without her permission and her belongings had been  missing. “I am being  treated like a criminal. But  I would not take  things lying down,” she said.

However, the spokesperson of Kailashanand, Ankur Shukla said, “Swami Kailashanand does not know a thing about the lady.” Notably,  Kailashanand was declared the    head of the Ashram to look after the arrangements after Rasanand passed away  during the Kumbh Mela. “We are  all pained and surprised with the  woman claiming to be seer’s widow when his memorial was being arranged,” he added.
