A woman who had gone to attend a marriage programme in Pratapnagar area of Tehri district was reportedly killed by a leopard. Her body was recovered on Thursday.
According to sources, the 52 year old woman of Kastal village in Pratapnagar had gone to a nearby village to attend the function on Wednesday evening. However, she reportedly neither reached the function nor returned home. On Thursday morning when the villagers went out to look for her they found her body in the nearby jungle.
The forest department team also reached the site on being informed. The villagers were demanding that the leopard responsible for her death be declared a man-eater and necessary action be taken by the authorities. This is going to be a question mark of safety of common people.
