A woman has registered a complaint against a constable, charging him with sexual exploitation done on the pretext of marrying her. The complainant also accused the constable’s family members of threatening her. Acting on the complaint, a case under appropriate sections of IPC has been registered against the constable and his family members in Patelnagar police station. Accused constable Manish Kukreti is presently posted at Uttarkashi.
In her written complaint, she said that she had been acquainted with constable Manish in July, 2015 through phone.
They had started talking since and the constable Kukreti had proposed to marry her.
She had agreed and both had met in a hotel in Patelnagar. According to complainant, constable Kukreti had sexually exploited her in the hotel.
A few days ago, Kukerti had told his family members about the same. His family members, however, refused to give permission for marriage.
The complainant said that his family members had started threatening her of dire consequences in case she continued to insist on marriage.
A Patelnagar—based police officer said that a team has been formed to investigate the case.
