Panic gripped State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand limited (SIIDCUl) industrial area in Haridwar after a young woman was found murdered with throat slit on Wednesday. The 21- year- old woman was murdered in her rented residence located at Surya Nagar Colony behind Kevin Care Company in SIIDCUl area. She stayed there with her husband and brother-in-law. The brother-in-law is absconding, raising suspicion of illicit relation with the murdered.
It is learnt from police sources that Arti was married to Vimlesh five years ago. Sandeep , her husband’s cousin, was staying with them. Vimlesh was from Sadimaon village under Maholi police station in Sitapur. Arti and Sandeep worked in different industrial units during the day while Vimlesh was engaged in night duty in a factory.
Vimlesh had gone on his duty the Tuesday night as usual. But in the morning as he returned the room was found locked from the outside. He went to the factory she worked enquiring about his wife. But she was not found there. Finally, he broke the door open to find that his wife was lying in a pool of blood.
Queried by The Pioneer, station officer SIIDCUl Rituraj said that upon being informed, when they had reached the spot the body was found with its throat slit open. “A sharp- edged weapon must have been used to murder her. Prima facie, it seems that her brother-in-law had committed the murder. He absconded after the incident. It seems that the woman had illicit relation with her brother-in-law. We are on the lookout for the accused. We are also in the process of verifying and recording statements of the people known to the family. The mystery would be unraveled soon.”
