A resident of laksar, Rani Sharma has filed complaints with the State Chief Minister and Health Minister, alleging that medical negligence by the management of a private hospital had resulted in her daughter having delivered a still child. She had earlier knocked the door of the district administration for justice, but to  no avail, she rued.

Sharma, a resident of Tada Jalalpur village of laksar tehsil, had  admitted her daughter in a private hospital at Balawali Chowk after she had developed labour pain. The management and staff on duty of the private hospital had informed her that Rs7,000 was charged for normal delivery while the figure was Rs18,000 for caesarean delivery. She was also informed that in case of caesarean delivery, the patient would be shifted to Roorkee on the hospital ambulance.

last Monday evening, she   had admitted her daughter to the hospital.  She alleged that the  on-duty doctor had injected a medicine in her after  checkup and asked her to wait outside the labour room till she was called.

After half an hour, the condition of her daughter worsened as  she started screaming in pain. later,  the doctor asked her  to shift her daughter to Roorkee on her own conveyance with her  daughter’s  condition being  critical and  with the  hospital ambulance being out of order.

During the time she was being shifted, she had delivered a still baby.  later, it was  declared dead by the Roorkee-based doctor.  “I need justice. I would go to any length to have those responsible for the tragedy be booked and punished,”  she said.
