A woman and her one-year-old daughter, living in Kankhal though originally from Nepal, were found hanging from a pole on Friday morning. While the bodies have been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem the husband of the woman is on the run, said police. Police further said that they had found two chairs near the pole from where the bodies were found hanging.
Nepali national Om Prakash had married Sandhya seven years ago.
Along with two daughters, the couple was living in a small hut behind Mahila Vidyalaya in Kankhal while the parents of Om Prakash are living in another hut located nearby.
Sandhya worked as a domestic help in some houses in the locality while Om Prakash works as a bus driver in a school, police said.
The relatives of the deceased said that Om Prakash was not at home when the incident happened.
