A woman named Geeta Sharma accused her brother of beating and abusing their mother Dayavanti Sharma over a property valued at Rs 4 crore. She also alleged that the Vasant Vihar police officer concerned of not cooperating with her in this case.
Addressing the media at the Press club, Geeta Sharma said that her brother Naresh Sharma had been indulging in violence against their mother for some years now over the property which is valued in crores of rupees. She said, “The situation worsened when he dubiously showed her as a mental patient and managed to get her shifted to a facility even though she is perfectly fine. I myself feel a threat to my life from my brother since the time I have decided to highlight the case in front of the media. I have faced a lot of pressure and problems because they have a lot of money to ensure support for their side.” She further alleged that when she approached the police with the issue, the police officer concerned reportedly ignored her plea and responded in an undesirable manner.
She said that the senior superintendent of police should intervene to ensure that justice is done in this case.
