Winter chill set to return in U'khand

The winter chill is all set to come back to Uttarakhand in a few days as the Meteorological Centre has forecast light rain/snow in the higher reaches (above the altitude of 2500 metres) in the State for at least two days starting from February 7. The plains would have rains too.

However, snowfall is likely to give a miss to Mussoorie and other places located below the altitude of 2500 metres, according to the weathermen.

The Met director Bikram Singh said another spell of western disturbances would trigger snow/rains. He said that dry weather would, however, prevail across the state on February 5 and 6.

Though Dehradun residents have got a respite from the chilling cold with sun out  things still turn cold during the morning and night hours as the mercury is hovering around 6 degree Celsius then.

The weather forecast for Dehradun on Friday is clear sky becoming partly cloudy. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 25ºC and 06 ºC respectively in Dehradun on Friday. Mist/haze is likely to occur in the plains on Friday.

Singh further informed that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 24.6 ºC and 6.0ºC in Dehradun while it was 19.4ºC and 5.6ºC in Tehri, 19.6ºC and 6.2ºC in Mukteshwar and 21.9ºC and 3.2ºC in Pantnagar on Thursday.
