Stringent action will be taken by the State Government in case any illegality is ascertained in the case of Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev’s Divya Pharmacy. Stating this, the State’s Health and AYUSH Minister Surendra Singh Negi said that he had just received report of the inquiry conducted by the State on directions of the Parliamentary Assurance Committee. The State Government is seeking legal advice in this case, said the Minister.

On being asked about the action being planned by the State Government in this case, the Minister said, “I have just received the report of the inquiry conducted in the matter. We are taking legal advice to ensure that we have a strong case if the situation arises. As the State was directed to conduct this inquiry, we are also trying to ascertain the stance being taken at the Central level. However, in case any illegality is found in the case, strong legal action is sure to be taken by the State,” stressed the Minister.

It will be recalled that on directions of the Parliamentary Assurance Committee, the State had conducted an inquiry in to Divya Putrajeevak Beej, an item  manufactured by Divya Pharmacy that purportedly claimed  to facilitate conception of a male child by women.  Though Ramdev has strongly rejected the allegations, it is learnt that the State inquiry also considered whether there was any violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and PNDT Act.
