Police are in a fix over the incident of doctors based at Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital in Haldwani extracting a roller meant for making rotis from the private parts of a woman through surgery. Nainital police are yet to receive a complaint from the woman complainant and her husband regarding the same. Her condition is, however, stated to be stable.
Police had earlier suspected that another person might have forced the roller in her. But with the couple remaining silent, police are finding it difficult to start a probe. It is learnt that when approached, the couple refused to cooperate with police.
Nainital SP City Jaswant Singh said that woman and her family members refused to disclose how it happened despite being repeatedly pressed. “We are in the dark over how it happened. We got information through the media,” he said.
A Haldwani police station officer said that the incident had occurred on the night of December 25. “She was admitted at the hospital on December 26 noon after she stomach started aching. She neither informed the doctor nor the police how it happened occurred. FIR will be lodged once the woman or anyone of her family members registers a complaint at the Haldwani police station,” he added.
