Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat has publically stated that appointments in Uttarakhand are being made through back door (jugad); he should now disclose as to what steps his Government has taken to cancel these back door appointments, said BJP leader Ravindra Jugaran while addressing a Press conference here on Tuesday.
He said the CM’s acceptance means that the job aspirants in Uttarakhand are cheated by this game of back door entries. “The section 14 and 16 of constitution which guarantee equality before law and equal opportunities in public appointment respectively are being violated in Uttarakhand,’’ said Jugaran.
The BJP leader charged the Congress Government for engaging in rampant corruption in process of appointments, promotion and recruitment by means of outsourcing due to which eligible unemployed are being robbed of employment opportunities.
He alleged that Uttarakhand Power Corporation limited (UPCl) recently appointed a person in the post of Director Human resource who is tainted and chargesheeted and was a mere III grade clerk in the department in the year 2001.
Jugaran said that it is surprising that this person was able to take ten promotions in 14 years and added that if such corrupt practices are continued to nourished then the day is not far when a police constable would start dreaming of becoming Director General by engaging in game of this jugad.
The BJP leader said that it is a matter of great worry that the State CM is not taking cognizance of media reports highlighting corruption in Power Corporation. He said that the people of the State are dejected with silence of public representatives on the issue of corruption and are blame both executive and legislature for it.
Jugaran said that series of corruptions in different fields has made Rawat a villain in the eyes of the common people and now it is up to him to start taking action on corruption and change this public perception.
