The Welham Boys School will begin its 76th anniversary celebrations from November 29.
During the three-day long functions, executive chairman of Fortis Hospital limited, Harpal Singh, naturalised Indian travel writer and mountain lover William McKay Aitken (Bill Aitken) and journalist Arjun Pandit will be among the prominent personalities slated to be present.
While Harpal Singh would be the chief guest of the Founder's Day speeches on November 30 and will present the academic and endowment awards, Arjun Pandit would be the guest of honour for the Sports Day on November 29. The school principal Gunmeet Bindra said that the school has invited the alumni to be a part of the celebrations and a special assembly and lunch for the alumni from the founding batch of 1988 is being organised on the occasion.
The senior boys of the school will put up a bilingual satirical burlesque, ‘Taj Mahal Ka Tender’ which comically and wittily mocks the corruption in society. The junior boys will dance to the tunes of a musical symphony. Book fair, annual athletics day, aero-aeromodelling show, exhibitions and other events will be held during the three-day long anniversary celebrations of the school.
