Welham Boys’ School observed ‘Grandparents Day’ on Monday. There was a combined turnout of the inmates of Prem Dham residential Home for the Elderly, Dalanwala and the parents and the grandparents of the students of the institution.

The day began by a musical presentation by the institution’s Western music department. The activity centre came to life with numbers from different genres paying tribute with the euphonious number, ‘Thank you for the music for all the joy’. A dramatisation of the poem, ‘Princess And The Pea’ was presented by the students of the junior school. It was followed by recitations of Odes written by the middle school boys. Gunmeet Bindra, Principal, Welham Boys’ School, said while mothers and fathers are the main source of discipline in a child’s life, his grandparents too have a profound effect in framing up their viewpoints.

The day was further celebrated by a quiz on famous personalities, sports and other hot topics organised by the students for the grandparents.

The day concluded with the presentation of gifts to the residents of Prem Dham old age home.
