Welcoming PM Modi at Kedarnath: local MlA ignored, says ex-CM

Expressing happiness at Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Uttarakhand, the former Chief Minister Harish Rawat also expressed disappointment averring that the Kedarnath MlA Manoj Rawat had been ignored in the welcoming of the Prime Minister at Kedarnath on Wednesday.

Welcoming the prime minister on his arrival in Uttarakhand, the former Chief Minister of the state said that he had made considerable attempt during the past two years to get the Prime Minister to visit Kedarnath. Rawat said that it was the discretion of the State Government that it did not ask the Prime Minister of the nation for anything regarding the State. “However the state government ignored the Kedarnath MlA Manoj Rawat in the reception of the Prime Minister as per the protocol. This amounts to insulting not just the people of Kedarnath but also the State of Uttarakhand. I am deeply disappointed that the Kedarnath MlA Manoj Rawat was deprived of welcoming the Prime Minister. If the state Government would have given the local MlA an opportunity to welcome the prime minister to his constituency, such an issue could have been avoided,” said the previous Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
