The Sub-District Magistrate Pl Shah has given strict instructions to the owners and managers of the wedding points and other places where weddings and such other functions are held, to install CCTV cameras within a month.
They have also been asked to ensure such functions are rightly recorded. Such recordings should be kept safe for the period of at least two months.Taking cognizance of the ghastly rape and murder involving a seven-year-old girl who was attending a wedding in Hadwani, a meeting was convened at the behest of Tehsil administration on Wednesday. The owners and the managers of wedding points and other places in the district headquarter Pauri attended the meeting.
Shah stressed that CCTVs must be installed in places like Nagar Palika Baratghar, DAV College ground, new bus station on Devprayag Road and Badrinath Dharmsala aside from other wedding points in a span of one month. This would help them to keep tab on and stop crimes. He warned that those who would not comply with the instruction would have their registrations cancelled. Besides, show cause notices would be served and actions would be taken to bar these places from holding such congregations in future.Such measures will be enforced in all parts of the Pauri district to keep the anti-social elements under watch who tend to use such functions to commit crimes. The Tehsil administration will act soon accordingly, the SDM added.
