President Pranab Mukherjee can expect to find congenial weather in Kedarnath, the famed Himalayan shrine he is scheduled to visit on September 28. He is arriving on a three-day visit of the Himalayan state on Tuesday.
Weathermen say that the weather would be clear in Kedarnath and other places the President would visit barring some drizzle or light rainfall. Notably, the President had failed to fly to Kedarnath Dham on June 22 during his last visit to the state due to inclement weather. The Chief Minister Harish Rawat had asked the President to come again in the last week of September in view of things remaining clear during that part of the year.
Bikram Singh, director of Uttarakhand Meteorological centre, said on Monday that the weather is expected to be congenial at the four famed dhams during the time the President is coming. “There is hardly any possibility of heavy rain between September 27 and September 29. It might drizzle at some places. The same is true on Haridwar and Dehradun,” he said.
The President would arrive in Dehradun on September 27 and would stay at Aashiyana. From here, he would go to Kednarnath on September 28. The President would reach Haridwar on September 29 and would see the Ganga Arti in the evening. From Haridwar, he would return to Delhi on September 29.
