'Warriors of Kurukshetra' relives tales from Mahabharata

The Warriors of Kurukshetra was unveiled by Governor Dr Aziz Qureshi at the auditorium of the Governor House on Sunday. The book, penned in simple and plain language, is aimed at bringing back the unraveling mysteries of Mahabharata back to lives of youngsters.

Two authors, Mamta Bhatt and Tripti Seth, who hail from legal background, termed the book a gift to the child from a mother. A visibly thrilled Mamta said, "The main idea is to introduce the young children with the evergreen tales of Mahabharata, thereby apprising them of great Indian values and sanskars."

Bhatt, whose exposure to the great spiritual literature began at early age, decided to write the tales in the great epics in a plain a simple language as she felt that young must get an exposure to the great Indian Epics such as the Ramayan and Mahabharata. In this effort, she started searching the book for her son Shaan Bhatt, an avid reader since he turned four. She claimed that whatsoever was available in the market failed to meet her requirement. It was then that she decided to pen the book. And she shared the idea with her friend Sheth who welcomed the idea and expressed the wish to coauthor the book.

The duo worked tirelessly for a long time. As a result, Warriors of Kurukshetra was born. "Being an avid reader, a lawyer and a mother, I exactly understand the value of a good book. Some books influence our thoughts, how we see ourselves and our world. But it is those kind of books that resonate with us, even years, after we read them. They help us shaping our expressions and give us comfort and direction in our difficult moments," Sheth said.

She further added that the book is an effort to apprise young children of the tales of great epic in a plain and simple language. She expressed hope that the book would serve its purpose. The author duo expressed thanked to the dignitaries and people for attending the book launch ceremony.
