By way of evolving a solution to the demand for walls being built around the Sahastradhara trenching ground, Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has floated tender for the work. The MCD has assured that the work would start in 21 days.
Due to the boundary wall of the ground being not high enough, the littering of the garbage is major problem the localities have been facing. Now, decks being cleared for the construction of the boundary wall around the ground, the problem might be solved in due course. However, the locals say that proposed construction of the wall would not solve the problem of the foul smell the accumulated trash emanates. “We are being subjected to the ordeal of putting up with the stink for a long time. We wonder how we would get relief from it,” said a local.
Vijay Kumar Jogdande, municipal commissioner, said, “We have already floated a tender for the construction of the boundary wall around the trenching ground. The process is most likely to start in 21 days.”
