In view of scheduled Uttarakhand visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee on May 3 and May 5 respectively, the date for the outgoing Haridwar DM SA Murugeshan to assume charge as the Dehradun DM has been deferred till May 6. Sources said that the state administrative officers have directed Haridwar DM Murugeshan and Dehradun Ravinath Raman to continue working in their pre-transfer posts and assume new charges after the VVIP tours are over.
Until Murugeshan assumes charge as the Dehradun DM, outgoing DM Ravinath Raman who has been transferred and given charge of secretary in-charge Science and Technology and Biotechnology would continue to hold office of DM, Dehradun.
Observers say that the state administration should have waited for the VVIP tour to be over before announcing the administrative reshuffle involving the district magistrates.
