In order to create better relations with the general public and to do more effective policing in their area, Vikasnagar police has taken an initiative by coordinating with all the village watchmen in there area and organising a small meeting on Friday.As per the information provided by the local police, the watchmen were called for a meeting in Vikasnagar police station. They were instructed to coordinate with the local ward members, councillors and Gram Pradhan along with other members of Gram Suraksha Samiti.
They were also instructed to provide information about each incident in their village at Haja police station on every Sunday. They are also given responsibility to inform about the people selling illicit liquor in the village or other illegal substances. The guards will also identify the people with criminal tendency and provide information regarding them in the police station. A WhatsApp group has also been formed on police station levels in which guards have been added as well.
The step has been taken by the police after taking the mixed population of the area into cognisance.
The idea is to maintain law and order situation by keeping the communal positivity as well.
