The three- day central governing body (Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal) meeting of Viswa Hindu Parishad concluded on Friday with a resolution passed for constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on the earlier approved model of 1989. The members of the Parishad said that they would wait till the Dharm Sansad, slated in November this year, announces its decision. They warned that they would not wait any longer after the sansad announces its decision. The meeting decided that the ‘Dharm Sansad’ would be held for three days starting from November 24 at Udupi in Karnataka.
Addressing the saints who gathered at Udasin Karshni Ashram in Bhupatwala area in Haridwar, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Hansdevacharya said that the Centre must do something so that the construction of the temple starts before 2019-the year the next lok Sabha election would be held. “Holding meetings and passing resolutions are futile. Time has come when we have to assert our power to make the government to fall in line,” he said, while exhorting everyone to chant ‘Jai Sri Ram’ to make the government to understand that it is the collective voice of the people.
“We would wait till the next sansad sits. After the contour of the construction is approved there and the representative committee is formed we would act on it. If required, we would launch another full-blown movement. We would not listen to any excuse for delaying things further,” the senior seer warned.
He said that VHP must have its focus unwaveringly trained on the momentous issue of the construction of the temple. “If we have to forget other things for that we would do it,” he said.
The resolution that was passed in course of the meeting stressed that the Ram temple would be made on the pattern of 1989 model ‘which has the sanction of 125 crore people of India’.
