Vehicle lifting goes unabated in Haridwar

Published on:

Vehicle lifting gang is once again active in different areas across the district. Over a dozen motor bikes has been lifted over the past one week.  Police are still floundering in search of clues to swoop down the  offenders  and recover the stolen vehicles. Things look grim as  in laskar alone, over half a dozen cases has been reported. Not a single arrest has been made so far-the failure that is spawning anger among  the people.

On Friday again, two members of such a gang attempted to break the lock of a  bike stranded near Balawali Chowk under laskar police station. As  those present screamed the miscreants fled the spot. The  angry people say police are proving ineffective to curb the menace. Rahul Singh, a general merchant operating from Balawali Chowk, said over half a dozen vehicles has been lifted from the areas. “Yet, the cops  are still clueless,”  he said.

Sumit of Nayhampur village said two of his newly bought two-wheelers had been lifted with police still clueless.
