The two days long Uurja-2015, the annual youth festival of UPES, has concluded on Sunday. Events which witnessed maximum participation included 'Games Expo', 'IPl Bidding', 'Turban Tying', 'Snoopers', ' Dancing -Digital Age', and 'Water Rocket' while the events which pulled maximum crowds included 'Footloose', 'Talent Hunt', 'War of Bands' , "Anhinay" and "Comedy Nights'.
Shivam Sharma and Satvika jha seleted as Mr and Miss Uurja-15 respectively. The winners received a cash prize of Rs 5000/- each apart from one year free membership of Gold Gym worth Rs 20,000/- and gift hampers from Betterfeet. The chief judge for Mr & Ms Uurja was Ms Kaajal Ghai of 'Nirala Boutique'.
"Games Expo", winners were the Saurav Sharma, Sukrit Mishra, Akshay Deep Kanda, Aditya Sharma, Akshat Drbari and Samarth Garg. "Water Rocket" was a contest where the contestants had to pump air into an empty inverted plastic water bottle by means of a foot pump with the objective to throw it up in the air, first and second prize was claimed by Ayush and Naman respectively.
Winners of "Alekh", face painting competition and T- shirt painting competition were Meghna Goel and Vaibhav Tandon; The treasure hunt in the campus called "Snooper" was won by the team comprising of Shreya Shekhar and Vikas Singh; "Race Against Time" which entailed completing a Quiz and a task in a given time frame was won by PMS Krishna Moha, Shikhar Jain, Shwetank Sahoo and Bodh Napu Vishu. Winners of "Nail & Hand Art" competition winner was Vaibhav Tandon and second prize winners were Saiket & Suvarna ; "Murder Case" wherein the contestants had to solve a murder mystery with a given set of clues was won by Muskaan & Shivang.
Culmination of Uurja-15 saw a compelling and gripping stage performance from the famous Band called "FARIDKOT" in the high grounds of UPES. They call their genre confused pop and have been hailed as one of the foremost original Hindi pop-rock bands in the country. They rocked the mammoth crowd of over 5000 on the UPES grounds nonstop for over two hours.
