The late founder of the Shiv Sena, Bal Thackeray observed a belief system throughout his life believing in politics of a kind which is based on the ratio of 80 per cent social service and 20 per cent active polity. Never did Thackeray ever show any difference in his words and actions, said the Shiv Sena chief of Uttarakhand, Gaurav Kumar. He was speaking at a ‘Smriti Diwas’ programme organised by the Shiv Sena Dehradun district unit to mark the death anniversary of the party founder here on Thursday. Kumar said, “Bal Thackeray who was like a banyan tree. He germinated and nurtured seeds which resulted in the creation of crores of Shiv Sainiks across the nation.” As envisioned by the party founder, the nation’s people now feel safe under the ‘branches’ which Shiv Sainiks have grown into, he added. The Shiv Sena state chief also announced that the party’s Dehradun unit will now onward undertake the onus of providing stationery materials to the children who received the same on Thursday.
The Shiv Sena district head Amit Karnwal said that pursuing its priorities of health, education and employment, the Dehradun unit of the party marked the occasion by gifting writing material, stationery and other items to about 100 children from the deprived section of society. The children presented with the writing material and other stationery items on the occasion were in the age group of between four to 10 years, he added. Shiv Sainiks and party office bearers along with local residents were also present on the occasion.
