Jaunsar Bhabar Kshetra Vikas Samiti, a social organisation, is going to organise a two-day Uttarakhand Sanskritik Magh Mahotsav-2015 from January 24, at THDC (Tehri Nagar) maidan, Ajabpur.
On the occasion of the Republic Day, the Samiti would organise sports competition, said Geetaram Gaur, president of the Samiti while interacting with mediapersons on Thursday.
Gaur said that Mahotsav-2015 aims at strengthening the cultural bonds and traditions of Uttarakhand. This Mahotsav would provide a platform to the artists of various tribes, including Bhotia, Tharu, Raji, Boksa, Jaunsari and those from Kumaon and Garhwal to showcase their talents. Uttarakhand Cabinet Ministers Pritam Singh and Dinesh Dhanai, former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari, former MlA Munna Singh Chauhan and others would participate in the Mahotsav.
On January 26, Volleyball, Kabbadi, 100-metre run and other sports competition would be organised. The winners of the sports competition would awarded by the chief guest. Thousands of people from various parts of the State would participate in the Mahotsav, Gaur added.
