Uttarakhand per capita income has grown to Rs1.03 lakh in the last financial year, 2013-14, —a figure that is Rs11, 158 more as compared to previous year’s income that stood at Rs92,191. As per the data released by the Directorate of Economics and Statics, the per capita income of the State estimated for the year 2013-14 (advance estimates) and 2012-13 (quick estimates) is Rs1.03 lakh and Rs92,191 respectively. It was mere Rs85,372 in the year 2011-12 though.
The State’s economy grew at 5.65 per cent in 2013-14, which shows a 0.04 per cent growth as compared to the previous year when the growth-rate was at 5.61 per cent. Moreover, the State’s economy was better placed than the national growth rate of 4.7 per cent for the same year, the report added. Economic growth rates of the state for the year 2013-14 (Advance Estimates), 2012-13 (Quick Estimates) and 2011-12 have been estimated as 5.65 per cent, 5.61 per cent and 9.37 per cent respectively.
According to data released by the Centre on May 30 last year, All India Economic Growth Rate for the financial year 2013-14 was 4.7 per cent, which were 4.5 per cent and 8.7 per cent for the year 2012-13 and 2011-12 respectively. State Income Estimate is aggregate money value of goods and services produced within the geographical boundary of an economic-region (Nation, State, District etc.), counted without duplication, during a specific period of time usually a year.
These are initially estimated for a Base Year (with respect to which growth/ development is reflected) and subsequently for forthcoming/ following years. Basically four estimates are prepared:Gross State Domestic Product at Base-Year ; Gross State Domestic Product at any ; Net State Domestic Product at Base-Year ; Net State Domestic Product at any. However, two more estimates/ indicators, as mentioned below, are also obtained i.e. Per Capita NSDP at Current Prices — Per Capita Income and Percentage Change in GSDP.
