The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal has said that during its three years in office, the Congress-led State Government has focused mainly on protecting the mafia active in liquor trade, land deals, education, mining and construction activities. The important tasks related to development and maintainence of law and order has been blatantly ignored during this period.
The UKD media in-charge Manmohan lakhera said that the three-year tenure of the State Government has been a major failure. The State Government has totally failed to tackle the deteriorating condition of law and order and illegal mining. The State Government has remained apathetic to the conditions in the 10 mountainous districts of the State and has focused its developmental efforts in the Udham Singh Nagar, Dehradun and Haridwar districts in the plains, he added.
He said the Congress-led Government had promised to provide unemployment allowance but has not done so yet. The hospitals in mountainous regions continue to face shortage of doctors while schools continue to face shortage of teachers. The efficiency of the State Government can be gauged from the deteriorated level of drinking water supply, power supply and roads. The Chief Minister Harish Rawat has no control over his Cabinet colleagues and bureaucrats. The three-year tenure of the Congress-led State Government has been marked by the encouragement provided to the mafia and continuing suffering of the public in the absence of efficient execution of developmental works, added lakhera.
