The Congress State unit has hit out at various allegations levelled by BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi against the Congress-led State Government during his recent rallies in different parts of the State.
Responding to the allegations made by Modi during his Uttarakhand visit, the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee task force convener Yogendra Khanduri said that the Congress had never politicised Modi’s visit to Uttarakhand after the disaster experienced in June last year. “His allegations are baseless. However, since the disaster last year, Modi has been taking political mileage from the disaster.”
Khanduri further averred that during his rallies in the State, Modi had accused the Congress led Government of increasing unemployment, but he had chosen to ignore the situation in Gujarat where unemployment has been rising consistently under Modi’s chief ministership. “There are 8,32,168 educated unemployed persons registered in Gujarat. Modi has been repeatedly stating in his speeches that on being elected the PM of India, he would guard the nation like a watchman but the nation does not need such a watchman. At all his rallies in Uttarakhand, Modi has been targeting the Congress with allegations of corruption whereas the BJP led Government in Uttarakhand saw the CM being changed twice on allegations of corruption,” added Khanduri.
