Uttarakhand BJP has finalised the details of party programme upto December 2013, including Vidhan Sabha gherao in support of disaster affected people on September 19 a day after start of Monsoon session of Vidhan Sabha. This was decided in a three day long including day long BJP State executive council meeting and two-day-long State BJP working committee meeting in Ramnagar on Sunday.
Talking to The Pioneer State BJP spokesperson Prakash Suman Dhyani, who was on way to Dehradun from Ramnagar after attending the meeting, said that party has prepared the calendar of activity till December end including within the organisation. During the meeting, BJP has passed a resolution that they would support protest of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in the State.
Dhyani further said that State BJP is going to organise two mega public rallies — one each in Dehradun and Haldwani in December. In which BJP national election campaign Narendra Modi and party senior leaders are supposed to participate.
State BJP in-charge Radha Mohan has categorically asked party workers to focus on newly enrolled voters, which is around 1.5 lakh in the State, so that party can add new voters in the party. With this meeting now every party workers have been given their assignment from August 26 to December 31 and they will have to complete their part of work within stipulated time. Even party has made the calendar of party activity including protest against the Congress led State Government and Union Government. Party leader has categorically asked them to win all five lok Sabha seats of the State.
During meeting most of the party leaders talked about the State situation after disaster, which took place on June 16-17 because cloudburst took place in three river including Mandakini in Kedarnath, Alaknanda in Badrinath and Bhagirathi in Gangotri at one time. It would be interesting to mention here that Congress led State Government convened a cabinet meeting on June 17 and were unable to gauge the situation.
They pointed that State Government failed to establish better coordination with Union Government and their bureaucrats which is why rescue work started very late. Although they appreciated the nation, who extended their help, to provide succor to the disaster affected people. Despite all this State Government failed to disburse the relief material in affected areas and relief material wasted in godown.
Even they awarded tender to the Engineering Project India limited (EPIl), which is black listed, to remove the debris. Even they purchased relief kit at `620 per kit while its actual price is mere `480 per kit. It has exposed discrepancies in distribution of relief material by the State Government. To expose this State BJP has decided to gherao the Vidhan Sabha on September 19.
