A few months after the Assembly election in which he had contested as a Congress candidate from Haridwar City constituency, Brahmswaroop Brahmachari said on Wednesday that Uttar Pradesh is lucky to have a seer in the person of Yogi Adityanath as its Chief Minister.
“A seer alone can give the right direction to the running of a State as he embodies moral values,” the Congress-associated leader said during a review meeting of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) held in his Jairam Ashram. He also strongly pitched for building a Ram Temple at Ayodhya at the earliest through a bill passed in the Parliament. “BJP now ruling both in the Centre and UP, it is high time that decks are cleared for the construction of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya,” he said.
Again, while lending his full weight to the Narendra Modi Government for bringing a law banning sale of bovines at the animal markets for slaughter, he strongly condemned the public slaughter of a calf in Kerala in the aftermath of the ban. “We strongly condemn what has recently happened in Kerala where a calf was slaughtered in the open. Those who did it are not entitled to call themselves as human beings."
In the meeting, a strong resolution was passed against some self-styled Shankaracharyas, engaged in vitriolic campaign against one another. ABAP has also given ultimatum to the Uttrakhand Government for waiving off the commercial taxes on ashrams and dharmshalas imposed by the previous State Government within two months as committed by the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat soon after assuming charge.
Presiding over the meeting, the national president of ABAP Mahant Narendra Giri said, “The holy Bhagawad Gita must be declared as the ‘national granth’ and a stringent law must be brought in the country to save cow.”
The council seers also demanded their representation in Namami Gange Project run by the Central Government to clean Ganga.
