Utkarsh Raturi, a 17 year old boy belonging to family hailing from Uttarakhand is creating waves in athletics circuit of Dubai. He recently clocked an impressive 11.25 seconds in the finals of UAE President Cup, organised by UAE Athletics federation (UAE AF). In the event, he won the Gold medal.
His father Dhananjay Raturi said that his son, a class XII student is consistently winning medals in all the events organised by UAE AF in 100 metres, 200 metres and 4 x 100 metres relay.
“He is part of Al Wasl track and field team and is being coached by Godwin Odinukaeze , at Al Wasl Club. His next aim is to participate and win medal at national athletic meets and Khelo India , though he is not sure if this year time will permit to participate in upcoming events,’’ said a proud father .
Talking about his future plans after class XII, Raturi said that he will take a year break from studies, either keep base at Uttarakhand, his native place or at Bangalore (Karnataka) his birth place. It is really a landmark achievement for the local lad and everybody is appreciating his grand performance. God bless him.
