Pauri District Magistrate Chandra Sekhar Bhatt expressed anger over just fifty five percent of the funds released under the district plan for first two quarterlies being spent so far by different district departments. He instructed the officers concerned to utilise the funds promptly while he was monitoring the district plan at a meeting held at Vikash Bhawan in Pauri on Wednesday.
Bhatt directed them to speed things relating to roads, water, electricity, health, education and social welfare. The part of the fund released in the last financial year under the district plan had remained unspent, he said, adding that the departments concerned like irrigation, jal sansthan, roads and bridge, pay jal nigam, minor irrigation must complete the pending works, using the hitherto unspent funds at the earliest.
Bhatt said that the aim of the district plan is to redress the problems of the common people. “The officers tasked to spend funds meant for the people’s welfare must be aware of their responsibility,” he said.
