BJP leader and former Union Minister of State, Satpal Maharaj has appealed to the State Government to build Gairsain Vidhan Sabha building on the pattern of ancient architecture of Uttarakhand. It has been noticed that the building is being made on the pattern of western architecture in place of Uttarakhand's traditional architecture.
Maharaj said that proposed building of Vidhan Sabha at Gairsain should depict Uttarakhand’s glorious heritage and ancient architecture. The char dham i.e. Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri are situated in Uttarakhand which also has famous pilgrimage centres like Jageshwar. We should follow the tradition so that any one can get glimpse of Uttarakhand by seeing Gairsain.
Maharaj further said that India had built parliament building in Bhutan according to the Bhutan’s tradition and its architecture. "Similarly we should make an effort to promote our culture so that upcoming generation would get glimpse of their won tradition. If we failed to change its map now then we will have spent more money on its alternation as per our tradition in future.
Even we would not be able to build as per our culture and tradition later," he said. He appealed to the state government to review the proposed map of the Vidhan Sabha bhawan and make alteration as per our tradition because it is our moral responsibility to strengthen our heritage for upcoming generation.
