Hundreds of contractual employees of Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Society (USACS) have finally got their pending salaries as the department disbursed the pending salary of four months to them.
The Pioneer had highlighted problem faced by these employees as their salaries were pending for more than five months.
These employees are working in various blood banks of the state, Anti Retroviral Treatment (ART) centres for the AIDS patients and Integrated Counseling and Testing Centers
(ICTC) as counselors, technicians, pharmacists and data operators.
They had not received their salaries for last four- five months. The President of Contractual workers of USACS, MS Aswal told The Pioneer that the employees had now got their pending salaries.
The Additional Project Director USACS Dr R K Pandey confirmed that the pending salaries are disbursed.
The problem of delay in receipt of salaries in the department arose in this financial year as the National AIDS Control Society (NACO) started sending the funds to the
State Government instead
of sending it directly to
USACS as done earlier.
The Government sends the budget to the DG health office which in turn provides it to USACS.
