The Uttarakhand Parivartan Party (UPP) has slammed the State Government for not clearing subsidy dues worth over Rs5 crore to the Khadi Gramodyog outlets in the State.
Demanding early clearance of the subsidy dues to the Khadi Gramodyog outlets, Prabhat Dhyani, UPP’s general secretary, said the
matter has exposed the Congress’s hypocritical penchant.
“On one hand, the party boasts of carrying forward the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi who personified 'Swadeshi' and ‘Khadi’ in the country and, on the other, the government led by the party seems the least bothered about the floundering Khadi sector in the State,” he said.
Saying that the Khadi sector is already mired in myriad problems, including that of marketing, he further said that the delay in the release of the subsidy dues by the State Government to the Khadi Gramodyog stores for a long period has only compounded on their woes.
Keeping in view of the crumbling financial health of the Khadi sector in the State, we have demanded early clearance of the long- pending subsidy dues to the said Khadi Gramodyog outlets, Dhyani further said.
