The Uttarakhand Parivartan Party has alleged that the State Government is abetting activites of the mining mafia in Uttarakhand. Addressing the media in Dehradun on Sunday, the party’s State president PC Tiwari said the stone crushers at Maletha in Tehri district had exposed the facilitation of the mining mafia by the State Government at the cost of public interest.

Tiwari alleged that the mining mafia was working in connivance with the State’s bureaucracy. lambasting both the BJP and Congress, Tiwari alleged that both these national parties had duped the people of Uttarakhand with even regional parties like the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal siding with either of these two national parties since creation of Uttarakhand. Welcoming the results of the Assembly elections in Delhi, the UPP chief said that the voters of Delhi had shown the nation that representatives of parties other than the BJP and Congress can also be elected to power.

Criticising the land Acquisition Bill of the Central Government headed by PM Narendra Modi, Tiwari said that this bill was aimed at benefiting the capitalists at the cost of the farmers’ welfare. The UPP will also be joining the nation-wide protest planned in Delhi in the near future against the land Acquisition Bill, added the party chief.
