The Joint coordination committee of officers and employees of Uttarakhand Peyajal Nigam has threatened to go on strike from March 17. The employees are agitated as the Chief Minister’s assurance regarding compensation of differential amount of salaries and pension till the department is absorbed in Uttarakhand government is not being followed by the state government even after three months of the declaration.
The President of the coordination committee, A K Chaturvedi said that it was decided in meeting held on December 14, 2015 in presence of state chief Minister and Potable water minister that the state government would provide a grant for payment of difference of salaries of employees till the department is merged into state government. He said that it was assured that the grant would be provided within 15 days but employees have not received anything even though more than three months have passed since the declaration. He said that the committee has started its preparations to make the strike a success.
