A special session for management students was organised by University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) on Tuesday in which the industry experts explained paradigm shift in Industry expectations from new incumbents and challenges that students are likely to face in times to come.
In the session the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Birlasoft (India) ltd Dharmender Kapoor, and Senior Vice President and Managing Director (Asia Pacific)—HRS Capability, Xerox Business Services India Private ltd, Vivek Setia interacted with the students and shared insights on how they can make themselves industry ready.
Setia, who commenced his session by screening a small clipping from the latest Bollywood movie “Tamasha” hammer home his point, advised the students to retain their individuality as it reflects their uniqueness and never to consider failures as an end.
In his address Kapoor stressed on the need to be adaptive in one’s field, challenging the status-quo and being analytical. He urged students to be creative and innovative for this is the only success mantra in today’s fast changing scenario.
The interactive session was organised by the Career Services department of UPES and was part of its annual orientation programme which the university claims is especially designed for new batch of MBA students.
