In order to fill the vacant posts in Uttarakhand Power Corporation limited (UPCl), the State administration has released Government order -approval of 2524 posts of staff structure in UPCl -on Thursday. These posts will be filled by direct recruitment and through departmental promotion process by February 28, 2017.
UPCl spokesperson PC Dhyani said that on February 25, 2016, a proposal on approval on the 3223 vacant posts of staff structure in UPCl by division director was sent to the state administration. The State Power principal secretary Umakant Panwar approved 2524 posts of staff structure on Thursday.
As per GO, 50 per cent of posts would be filled through direct recruitment while remaining 50 per cent through outsourcing. Drivers, Peons, Chowkidar and others would be filled through outsourcing. like in UJVNl and PTCUl, the vacant posts of chief engineer (civil) at district level in UPCl would be filled through promotion process.
Since the inception of the state, there has been significant rise in power distribution system in UPCl. Customers have been increased and UPCl has strengthened its distribution system in order to provide customers uninterrupted power supply. UPCl secured third position in power distribution in the country.He further said that with the increase in number of customers, the UPCl had increased power capacity of 33/11 KV power sub-stations, length of 33/11 KV lines, length of 11 KV lines, length of lT lines, number of transformers, number of private tube wells and others. However, staffs got retired from time to time in these years and with no approval of staff structure from the state administration, UPCl engineers and staffs were having additional works to execute to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the customers. In order to fill the vacant posts in the UPCl, division director had sent a proposal requesting approval of staff structural to the state government in 2011. Such proposals were sent several times to the state administration from time to time.
