'Unofficial' inquiries into Panache project affecting business: Real estate developers

Members of the newly-established Uttarakhand Real Estate Developers Association have said that “unofficial” inquiries into alleged anomalies in construction of Panache Valley project at Chalang in Dehradun and spreading of misinformation about the project is affecting the business.

Addressing the media here in Dehradun on Wednesday, a partner in the Panache Valley residential project, Rajiv Kumar said, “We got approval for this project from the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority in 2012 and later also procured a no-objection certificate from the Revenue department for the project. It had been ascertained at that time that this project does not entail construction on any land owned by the State Government, Gram Sabha or Golden Forests. Though inquiries were constituted by the authorities on the status of land being used for the project no anomaly was found.

Now we are hearing that another inquiry into allegations of land grab for construction of the project is being undertaken. We are not against any inquiry into the land status but we want that the inquiry be fair and proper. Misinformation is being leaked to the media with reports being published about our project encroaching on land which is detrimental to business. We have NOCs from nine banks and these would not have been likely had we been encroaching on land for construction of the project. We had started purchasing land for the project in 2011 and the project has been on for about five years now and is nearing completion,” he said. The Panache Valley project consists of  about 300 under construction units spread across 240 bigha area.

Consultant to the Uttarakhand Real Estate Developers Association, Sushil Naithani averred that the real estate business was the sector attracting major investment in the State but anomalies and negative publicity would affect business.
