To demonstrate his strength and stake claim for ticket in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election in Narendranagar, ex-MlA Subodh Uniyal organised a massive rally in his constituency on Sunday. With this rally, the ex-MlA has tried to show his leadership quality, which Chief Minister Harish Rawat was not ready to accept, especially as ex-CM Vijay Bahuguna had the one-point demand that Uniyal should be inducted into the Cabinet. Rawat kept them on the tenterhook. By attracting a huge crowd for the public rally, Uniyal has shown his strength and ascertained his claim to be a candidate of the BJP from here.
Justifying his stand of deserting the Congress and joining the BJP, Uniyal said that the Congress party had become hollow because of their incompetent leadership. Despite knowing this he tried to serve the party but when they did not listen their suggestion to make party more approachable to the mass then he decided to quit. Although he made it clear that he would try his best to strengthen the BJP in his constituency and state as well. Ironically five out of nine dissidents i.e. Ex-CM Vijay Bahuguna, Harak Singh Rawat, Umesh Sharma Kau and Pradee Batra, who left Harish Rawat government while opposition was demanding division of vote on appropriation bill on March 18, were present there. Uniyal said that these days CM Rawat could not come out from Kumaon mental status which is why GArhwal region is being totally neglected by the State Government.
State BJP president Ajay Bhatt, who had gone there to attend the function which was organised by newly joined BJP member Uniyal, criticised the Harish Rawat led Uttarakhand Government and said that currently State is under the grip of fear and corruption. We have seen how Government servants were tried to trample by the mining mafia but state government did not take stringent action against the accused.
With this lackadaisical approach officers are not taking any action against these mafia and they are flouting all the norms and intensified the illegal mining. Can we believe that mafia does such illegal mining without connivance of political masterIJ He expressed hope that people of Uttarakhand are fed up with the dictatorship of CM Rawat because he has already said “Na Khata Na Bahi to Harish Rawat bole wahi sahi (neither account nor ledger but whatever Harish Rawat says is truth}”.
They will teach a lesson to Rawat in the election. In a bid to appease their party workers, who might have been running annoyed with the inclusion of 10 Ex-MlAs who joined BJP after deserting Congress, Bhatt said that as party would conduct internal survey on all 70 Assembly constituencies and even newly joined party workers have not been given any assurance of Vidhan Sabha ticket so don’t get into pros and cons. Instead of getting into anticipation you come out and strengthen party in door to door.
