Uniting Hindus, Muslims biggest innovation by Gandhi: Guv

Transforming classes into masses and uniting Hindus and Muslims as comrades in the non-cooperation movement against British colonial rule is the biggest innovation in the management of politics which Mahatma Gandhi brought to this nation.

Inaugurating the third international conference on management innovations on Monday at Gurukul Kangri University founded by freedom fighter Swami Shradhhanand, Governor of Uttarakhand Aziz Qureshi expressed these sentiments. The conference is being organised by faculty of management studies and will see deliberations among participants from all over the world in the next two days.

“Never ever in the history was it seen when a Hindu sanyasi was invited to speak from a mosque but this happened during freedom movement when founder of Gurukul Kangri Swami Shradhhanand delivered his address from Jama Masjid in Delhi,”  said the Governor. He was elated to visit the holy land of Haridwar and a temple of education founded by a saint and wanted to apply the sacred soil of the place on his forehead, added Qureshi.

The keynote speaker from Gwalior, Yogesh Upadhyay said that maintaining a flow of fresh ideas was a challenge which all educational institutions faced today. Elizabeth Ann Griffin from Jindal Global law School said that innovations were rooted in our ancient words of wisdom and management students must never forget the roots of their Vedic wisdom to be innovators.

Earlier, the GKU Vice Chancellor Prof Surender Kumar and director of conference Pankaj Madan declared the conference open. Senior professor of Faculty of Management Studies, Vagish Paliwal appreciated the innovations of the students.
