The Uttarakhand Parivartan Party (UKPP)has reiterated its demand to the State Governor for cancelling the allegedly illegal allocation of land to the Jindal group at Nanisar. The UPP central head PC Tiwari said that the erstwhile Congress-led State Government under Harish Rawat as CM had violated the law by allocating land area covering several nali to the industrial group in addition to harassing the village residents protesting against this land allocation. Tiwari said this while addressing a gathering held by the party to discuss the status of this and other issues.
The general secretary of the party, Prabhat Dhyani alleged that the erstwhile State Government had given a free hand to criminal elements for robbing the State of its natural resources. Those attending the meeting unanimously demanded that the land allocation made by the erstwhile State Government to an industrial group for setting up of an international residential school should be cancelled. The villagers and activists have also decided to stage a march to Nanisar on April 13 to emphasise on the demand for cancellation of the land allotment here.
The UPP leaders also averred that “the black money of land mafia and capitalists is behind the current phase of political horse-trading, shifting political loyalties and sting operation being witnessed in the State.
