Uttarakhand may receive moderate to rather heavy rainfall in the plains and rainfall with snow in the mountainous parts on Sunday.
The Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast moderate rain/snow at many places in Uttarakhand on Sunday. Rather heavy rain/snow may occur at isolated places especially in Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Almora districts. Hail/thunder squall could occur at isolated places.
According to the Met office, snowfall (10 to 20 cm in depth) may occur at places with height around 3,000 m and above in the State. Following this, the maximum temperature may fall by a few degrees in Dehradun and other parts of the State.
Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma has attributed this to western disturbances. He said that in Dehradun, maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 27.3°C and 10.2°C, respectively, on Saturday.
The weather forecast for Dehradun on Sunday is cloudy sky. One or two spells of rain/ thunder shower would occur. They may be moderate in some areas in the district. Hail/thunder squall could occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 20°C and 14°C, respectively, on Sunday in Dehradun, it is forecast.
